Information we handle
1. Your IPTV server details. When you add a server directly on the TV, the URL, username/password or M3U playlist link you enter are stored locally on the TV and are sent only to the IPTV server you chose, to log in and play your streams. If instead you use the optional “Via Web” setup — entering your playlist on our website so it appears on your TV — those playlist details (including server URL and username/password) are transmitted through our licensing service in order to deliver them to your device. In either case we do not use your IPTV credentials for any purpose other than delivering them to your device and connecting to the service you chose.
2. Device identifier.The app reads your TV’s device identifier (DUID) and sends it to our licensing service to manage app entitlement/subscription for your device. On its own it is not linked to your name or a personal profile. If you register an email address for a subscription, the identifier is linked to that email until you delete your account.
3. Email address (only if you use subscription features). If you pay for, verify, or restore a subscription you provide an email address — either in the app or as part of checkout. It is sent to our licensing service to identify your subscription and to let you restore it on a new device. We do not use it for marketing.
5. Payment details. Payments are handled by Stripe on their own checkout page. Your card details never reach us — we receive only the email address you used and a payment reference, in order to issue your licence.
6. Technical data for abuse prevention. When you request a code by email, your IP address is held briefly in memory to enforce rate limits. It is never written to our database.
4. Playback and app data (on your device). Favorites, continue-watching, and settings are stored locally on the TV. Your viewing activity is not collected by us.
What we do NOT do
- We do not include, host, or provide any channels, films, or streams.
- We do not sell or rent your personal data.
- We do not display third-party advertising.
- We do not use third-party advertising/analytics trackers.
Third parties
- Your IPTV provider receives your credentials and stream requests directly; their handling of your data is governed by their own policy.
- Our licensing service receives your device identifier (and email, if provided) to manage entitlement, and — only if you use the “Via Web” setup — briefly handles the playlist details you enter in order to deliver them to your device.
- Stripe processes payments and receives the email address and payment details you enter at checkout, under its own privacy policy.
- Resend delivers our verification and account-deletion emails, and receives the destination email address for that purpose.
Data retention & your choices
- IPTV credentials and app data live on your device; removing a server or uninstalling the app deletes them from the TV.
- You can delete your account and email address at any time at vodiplayer.com/delete-account. We keep payment and licence records for accounting, and a record that your device has used its free trial to prevent trial abuse; both are stripped of your personal details.
- We keep account and licence records for as long as your subscription is active, and afterwards only as long as we need them for accounting and abuse prevention.
- If you no longer have access to your email address, contact support@vodiplayer.com and we will handle the request for you.
Children
VodiPlayer is a general-audience player and is not directed at children. It ships no content of its own.
Changes
We may update this policy; the effective date above reflects the latest version.
